March 2002 was a month of pain: one hundred Israelis were killed in terrorist attacks, followed by a military operation in which more lives were lost.

Over the course of the exhibition month, twelve works were created across two gallery spaces. The process began in the artist’s studio, where bandages and varnish were applied to the canvases. Later, in the gallery, medical IV bags filled with acrylic paint slowly dripped onto the surfaces in full view of passersby. Visitors were invited to participate by responding to the question “What do you feel like doing now?” – on special cards.

Each week, the canvases and colors were changed:

• Week 1: Red-Blue-Yellow – the primary colors

• Week 2: Blue-White C Us

• Week 3: Red-Green-Black – Them

• Week 4: All the colors together – All of us

The work wove together multiple layers:

• The artist’s intimate practice in the studio

• The physical presence of the gallery space

• Anonymous passersby, unknowingly involved

• The wishes expressed by participants

• The intrusion of the “outside world”

Months later, the bandages were removed, and flowers were painted over the surface—an act of healing, and a testament to the transformation the space had undergone.
