About me
Since I graduated from the "Midrasha" Institution of Fine Arts, my visual language developed in a multidisciplinary way. My recent works travel between the public space - direct audience engagements through interactive constellations, to intimate studio work: sculpting, drawing, sketching and a handful of mixed techniques
I like to explore; feelings and their transformation into matters, ideas to visual experiences, and how my perspectives interact with the audience.
Also, I partake in educational projects, curate, organize and lead Art tours unrevealing contemporary art and teach art.
My artwork is conceptual and conducted in sequences the themes are diverse and vary from Jewish tradition & Bible stories to personal experiences. At times, I view Art’s function as a tool for bringing about new vision for everyday realm..
The “Aushpizin” (Ancient Aramaic: Guests) sequence is a good example, as it is a sequence of works across various mediums, where I had built upon ancient Jewish tradition(Kabala). The story about the primal fathers that are invited as Aushpizin during the holiday of Sukkot. In my work, I had a new and alternative list of guests, who represent individuals I am inspired and empowered by, just like the role of the original Aushpizin.
During the last five years, I was invited as an artist in residence to Austria, Italy, and Australia.
At Assisi, Italy, my work was a voice of gratitude to Assisi's residence heroic actions to save European Jews, during the Nazi occupation of Assisi in 1943. A few years prior, I had positioned a work in a unique building at the University of Vienna. The work focused on the “Night of Broken Glass” (Kristallnacht).
Research is my vessel for project’s conceptualization. I let my interest drive me, getting lost in a holistic learning process. Honing my skills, I worked as a researcher and content editor for Israeli Television documentaries, mainly dealing with Israeli art.
I graduated with a master's degree in visual literacy from Kibbutzim College of Education, Technology and the Arts, Israel, 2019.
מאז סיום לימודי במדרשה, גיבשתי שפה ויזואלית שמטרתה העיקרית לצור דיאלוג עם הקהל. כאמנית, אני מאמינה שניתנה לי האפשרות לייצג באופן גשמי תת-מודע קולקטיבי, מכנה משותף רחב.
מעניין אותי לחקור איך ניתן לתרגם רגש לצורה, רעיון לחוויה חזותית, כיצד התפיסה הסובייקטיבית שלי משליכה על העולם ומתחברת אתו.
בעבודותיי בשנים האחרונות נעה בין עבודה במרחב הציבורי – מגע ישיר עם קהל בהצבות המייצרות אינטראקציה עם העוברים והשבים. בשלב השני יצירה אינטימית בסטודיו: פיסול, ציור, רישום ומגוון טכניקות מעורבות. הציורים מתאפיינים בצבעוניות חזקה וחומריות. בנוסף, משתתפת בפרויקטים חינוכיים, אוצרת, מארגנת ומנחה סיורי אמנות עכשווית ועוסקת בהוראת אמנות בקבוצות קטנות. כמו כן הוזמנתי מספר פעמים לתכנית שהות אמן במדינות שונות.
עבודת האמנות נעשית בסדרות בהתאם לנושאים בהם בוחרת לעסוק במגוון תחומים, כמו המסורת היהודית, סיפורי התנ"ך, תהליכים הלקוחים מחיי האישיים ועוד. לדוגמא: סדרת "האושפיזין" - רצף עבודות במדיומים שונים, בהן השאלתי מהמסורת את עיקרון הזמנת האבות הארכיטיפיים לסוכה. יצרתי רשימה חדשה של אורחים אשר אמורים לעזור ולהעצים אותי בתחומים שונים בחיי, כשם שהאבות מאצילים מרוחם על יושבי הסוכה. כלומר, לעיתים, האמנות מתפקדת כמעין מכשיר אשר טעון ביכולות כמעט מאגיות לחולל שינוי. הסדרה האחרונה עוסקת בשיבוש של הסדר הקיים, בעיקר באמצעות ציור כלים המונחים על בלימה במרחב הביתי.
ההצבות במרחב הציבורי הינן "תלויות מקום" ופועלות מול קהל כעין מיצג. לאחרונה השתתפתי בתכנית שהות אמן באסיזי, איטליה. עבודתי עסקה בהכרת תודה לפעילות ההרואית של תושבי העיר שהצילו מאות יהודים בעת הכיבוש הנאצי בשנת 1943. לפני מספר שנים הצבתי במבנה מיוחד באוניברסיטה של וינה, עבודה בנושא "ליל הבדולח". העבודה במרחב הציבורי מוצבת לעיתים רק לכמה שעות אך ההשפעה שלה מאוד מהותית.
בעבר עסקתי בקולנוע דוקומנטרי בתפקידי תחקיר ועריכת תוכן. בעיקר סרטים בנושא האמנות הישראלית.
בוגרת תואר שני באוריינות חזותית בסמינר הקיבוצים, 2019. הכלי המחקרי משמש אותי בכל פעם שאני מפתחת נושא כשאחד המרכיבים העיקריים הוא לימוד מעמיק של התוכן אשר מעניין אותי.
